After Endodontic Treatment
Endodontic treatment has now been completed. The root canal system has been permanently sealed. However, the outer surface is sealed with a temporary restoration. A follow-up restoration must be placed to protect your tooth against fracture and decay. Please telephone your restorative (general) dentist for an appointment. A complete report of treatment will be sent to your restorative dentist.

Until the tooth is permanently restored by your general dentist, you must avoid chewing on that side of your mouth to prevent the tooth from fracture. However, you should clean (brushing and flossing) all your teeth normally to prevent further decay.

Included in your treatment is a follow-up appointment (usually 6 months later) to evaluate the progress of healing with a digital radiograph. This appointment will require only a few minutes and no additional fee will be charged for the first check-up visit. Our office will mail you a post card advising you when to call to schedule for your follow-up visit (usually 6-12 months after treatment has been completed).
